The Macdonald St Paul's Hotel in Sheffield, has an interesting and inspiring setting located between the Victorian Town Hall and the very new Winter Gardens. There were, as well as the technical challenges of achieving in appearance a totally glazed frame-less window, also environmental considerations with the close proximity of the tropical garden at The Winter Gardens. The look of the building is influenced and directed by the American architects, The Street Design Partnership. The 2,000m sq of glazing is a stunning focal point on an already outstanding building.
